Who we are
We, Boruga family, founders of this charity, are committed to extending Christlike love to the most vulnerable members of our society—the impoverished children and their families. With the support of dedicated volunteers, we seize the opportunity to share this divine love with our beneficiaries.
Our Mission
Hope for Heart is committed to the cause of social inclusion. We focus on helping the underprivileged and most marginalized communities (often the Roma) by supporting early childhood education.
Our long term focus is breaking the cycle of illiteracy, poverty, and unemployment that plagues these communities and empowering the next generations to embrace education and seize the infinite opportunities it brings.
We are inspired by the teachings of the Jesus Christ who calls us us to love our neighbors and care for the ones in need.
Where we work
Headquartered in Sighisoara, Transylvania, Romania, we operate actively in Mures and Sibiu Counties. Our educational program is fully functional in Danes, Sases, and Laslea, while we provide support to underprivileged communities in seven other towns: Sighisoara, Archita, Vanatori, Hetiur, Cris, Valchid, and Blajel. We are actively seeking financial solutions to extend our educational program to these communities too.
What we do
“Roma Rise Program”, our core program, focuses on children aged 3-12, aiming to increase access to education, prevent school dropout, and foster social inclusion.
Since 2012, we have established three childhood education centers with canteens in Danes, Laslea, and Saes. Here, we offer afterschool programs that assist children with homework, maintain open communication with school teachers to track their development, and ensure a supportive learning environment. At the same time, we ensure that over 160 disadvantaged children receive a daily warm meal, actively tackling both the pressing issue of food insecurity and fostering holistic development. We acknowledge that education flourishes when complemented by individualized support and genuine care.
